Call of Weedy

Call of Weedy-

Sorry I’m a day late my gamer friends…I’ve been a bit busy lately.

So I’ve been playing Call of Duty lately and I’ve got a bone to pick with the developers.  It seems like half of the people that I play with now have something on their character that has to do with marijuana.  What the hell is this for?  What is this teaching kids?  Weed is cool?  You get a pot leaf as an achievement?  Come on now Infinity Ward.  This shit is not right.

So my 10 year old brother unlocks the call sign “Joint Ops” the other day along with “Blunt Trauma”.  Of course he probably knows already what the hell pot is now because kids these days know pretty much everything by kindergarten.  BUT – now he has the opportunity to have an entity that has something to do with it.  So rap music introduces him to what the hell weed is…and now he can have something that has to do with it that makes him look cool in a game. Well I don’t appreciate it IW.

Now I understand that the game is rated M for mature but still…come the hell on.  One of the reasons that it’s rated mature is for drug references.  I guess what matters most to a company is money though.  Can Infinity Ward make more money off of marijuana users loving that the game references drugs?….or can they make more money not using drug references and allowing some kids parents to buy the game for them?

So maybe you’ll make more money…but good job being a bad influence IW.  You get a big sad face from me. =(

Your 10 year old brother should not be playing Call of Duty anyways…this game is meant for a mature audience. You have a problem with him learning about weed but not murdering other people in war or slaughtering a ton of innocent people in an airport? Stop being a hypocrit, weed symbols are probably the smallest portion of the game that you should be worried about him seeing.

Agreed. Your 10 year old brother should not be playing an ‘M’ rated game. Why does it always seem in America that violence is perfectly acceptable, but anything to do remotely with sex or drugs is instantly censored/complained about?

I’ll tell you this much, if they put more emphasis on showing less violence on TV and everyone started smoking weed, the whole country would be a much nicer and laid-back place. ;)
