There are whole worlds in these boxes
Well, it’s been a nice long delay since my New Years Update. I have at least followed up on one of my many goals for the year. We are up on iTunes. yay. To celebrate I actually have a new podcast for you. This week’s podcast is our 11th, and it is also the first ‘cast of ’11, ominous! You’ll note the cleaver pun in the title. See I made the two L’s in “small” 1′s. Spiffy.
Anywho, this podcast is a play-through of Days of Wonder‘s Small World with the usual suspects, Annie and Marc. It’s a great little territory taking game much like Risk. It has fantastic themeing and sense of humor. We do a brief review of the game at the end of the podcast, but look for a full formal written review early next week.

The Boxes, They are Empty.
Bad news everyone! Well, not that bad. The holidays are upon us and as such things are getting busy and hectic. (Also you know…there is this big game that just came out…that I’m kinda busy playing…) Any-who, we’ll be stopping Outside the Box: PC Edition for the 2010 season. However, we’ll be back with a freak’n vengeance in 2011! There were 10 episodes for 2010, and we’ll be starting 2011 with episode 11. I hope you all tune in come January for more wonderful play-throughs and inane ramblings. I hope to see you there!

The Boxes. They are Full of Snow!
December 1st, the start of a new month, and the release date of our 10th episode of Outside the Box: PC Edition. To mark this mile stone we go back to our older style of podcast. No play-through here, just a long winded ramble on the different kinds of board games. This ‘cast synergizes with the Triforce series of articles. It acts, along with those articles, as a sort of buyer’s guide for board games. In this holiday season it is important to be able to communicate your wants and needs, when it comes to games, to the various stores you’ll be visiting. It is our hope that this will give you the tools you’ll need to find that perfect game. So have a great month and find some great games!

There has to be a lamp in one of these.
Though late, I have kept the promise from last week’s podcast. Today I bring you a play-through of Tales of the Arabian Nights! Well, it’s not a complete play-through since Tales can take upwards of two hours and no matter how much fun a game is to play ,no one wants to sit and listen to people have fun for two hours. You will not get to hear the end of our magic travels, but I will let you know that I actually ended up winning since Annie ran off to Stonehenge while I plugged away shuffling my wounded crippled form from a Haunted House back to Bagdad. It was a fun game, aside from the part where I died. That’s how it goes I guess. I hope to be back next week with a play-through of Betrayal at House on the Hill. Until next time, enjoy.

Look What I found! The Monsterthon!
It’s hard to believe we’ve been recording these for two months now. I think it is befitting this auspicious occasion to break all with all the lies, half truths, and broken promises to finally bring you the long fabled  Monsterthon Episode of Outside the Box: PC Edition. Yes folks, after weeks of technical issues (which we hope we’ve hammered out) and down right neglect, I have finally managed to cobble together a play-through of everyone’s favorite zombie board game: Last Night on Earth. I played with my fellow writer Annie and a good friend of mine Marc, whom you may remember. We sat down and played for one unedited hour. They tried to murder my undead hordes whilst I was trying to pick off the weak and sickly. I shan’t spoil the ending but let’s just say this ended better than the last time I played a zombie game with Annie. Either way, I hope you enjoy this long awaited Podcast!

Do These Boxes Sparkle?
And we are back once again. Alas, this is not the by now legendary Monsterthon about Last Night on Earth. It is still about Horror Games though, so that’s good right? This week I ramble on about World of Darkness and all that it entails. I talk a bit vampires and prometheans, and this Podcast covers the skinny on some of the other races and some of the tales of some of my WoD campaigns chronicles. Hey Gamezombies, listen up!
We’re here with a new podcast about gaming issues. Our first podcast is about the idea of open-character format games, where the player can choose what kind of a person they want to play, versus closed-character format games, like the Zelda series, where the player is a developer-created character rather than their own person. 28 Minutes Later will be weekly and will feature tightly-focused discussion amongst several of our writers, so we hope you enjoy our first episode!

Boxes: Full of Zombies?
Oh the pangs of defeat. I have bested myself this week my friends. I was unable to live up to my own expectations and ideals. I left the Hallowed Halls of Bad-Assery to wallow in the Outhouse of the Lame. And instead of making “Outside the Box: PC Edition Eps. 6 – Monsterthon – Moar Zombies!” I have created its pale and meager shadow. In this mockery of all that is awesome I bring not a play-through of Last Night on Earth but rather a play-through of the much shorter Zombie Fluxx. A game which I am not even sure I was victorious. Alas and Alack. I do beseech you to follow me down into this lower realm of MST3K references and Jonathan Coulton songs. Please at least pretend to enjoy.
